The Independent Womxn Experience Series: Making Big Moves as a Young Entrepreneur With Massage Therapist Allie Reid

Meet Allie Reid, the owner of Reid Massage and Wellness. Allie Reid is a North Carolina, South Carolina and New York licensed massage therapist and has been professionally practicing massage since 2016.

In 2018, at 24 years old, Allie decided to go out on her own and start her own massage practice, Reid Massage & Wellness. Since 2018, Allie built her business, created an all natural body care product line, persevered through a 4 month Covid shut down, went from 2 clients a week to 20 clients a week and just recently, followed her dream to move her business to NC.

Allie also happens to be my business bestie! I am so proud of her on how far she's come. She was a Boss B*tch in NY and she's on her way becoming a Boss B*th in North Carolina. We discuss how she became a business owner, how we met through the ickiness of networking groups, and how women empowerment among small business owners needs a major makeover!

ALLIE'S TAKEAWAYS:

  1. There should not be any competition among women business owners. We all have something different to bring to the table.

  2. There are other options besides networking groups to promote your business. Put your money in social media and attending vendor shows.

  3. The life of a business owner is tough. You will miss family events in the beginning. But that's the sacrifice you'll have to make to build your business.
